The society’s head office is located in the center of the city of Hanover and can be conveniently accessed by public transport (see city map). It is a gathering place for family researchers where members and interested people can share their experience and research. Here we also organize conferences and workshops.
You are invited to visit our extensive library consisting of more than 10,000 family history books, personal family notes and journals (including the 1952-1991 published "North German family Customer") and research on genealogy and history. A WiFi facility provides you with an easy internet access. All this is accessible free of charge. Association members can also borrow books.
The particular value of our library consists of numerous unpublished genealogical work. About 290 folders are opened with unbound manuscripts, documents and research results. Even the extensive inventory of estates is now best accessed by a PC data base using names and places. The database is regularly updated and made available at the end of the year on CD for sale.
During opening hours you can meet with specialists who are able to help you on the spot. Guests are most welcome.
